SMS Rental (WA) Pty Ltd is very pleased to announce that it has executed a contract with BM Alliance Coal Ops PL (BMA) for equipment hire and maintenance” at Saraji Coal Mine, located near Dysart in Central Queensland. Saraji has coal reserves amounting to 648 million tonnes of coking coal, one of the largest coal reserves in the world.
SMS has been an equipment supply partner to BMA for the past two years, and currently holds contracts at its Goonyella Riverside & Peak Downs Coal Mines. This latest contract is significant, as it enables SMS to tie the three operations together which will in turn provide obvious synergies and operational efficiencies to our Queensland operation to enable future growth in the region.
The Saraji contract will run for an initial period of 12 months. There is an option to extend for an additional 12 months subject to SMS performance & site requirements. Services to be provided by SMS include the supply and maintenance of an ancillary/in pit services fleet. BMA will provide the supply & setup of our maintenance infrastructure. Mobilisation to site is expected to occur immediately with operations to commence early September 2015. The SMS onsite workforce is expected to peak at around 10 personnel.
SMS are extremely proud to be associated with BMA in Queensland, and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership and supporting them at the Saraji operation.
