SMS Innovative Mining Solutions is pleased to announce the award of the mining services contract at Matts Dam South & Porphyry Gold Mines owned by Norton Gold Fields, a wholly owned subsidiary of Paddington Gold Pty Ltd.
SMS has been a long-term partner of Norton Gold Fields dating back to 2013. SMS currently holds the MARC services and equipment rental contracts for all current operating open cut mines for the company and has previously provided mining services works at its Racetrack Gold Project.
The Matts Dam South Gold Project is an open pit operation based 50km out of Kalgoorlie. The Matts Dam & Porphyry West contract will span 20 weeks. SMS will provide mine development, load and haul, drill and blast and relevant site closure and rehabilitation services.
Mobilisation to site is expected commence mid-May 2018 with mining operations to commence in the first week of June 2018. The SMS onsite workforce is expected to peak at around 38 personnel.
