SMS Rental (WA) Pty Ltd is very pleased to announce that it has executed a contract with Mt Magnet Gold Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ramelius Resources Ltd, for the provision of equipment hire and maintenance services at the Mt Magnet Gold Project. Ramelius acquired the Mt Magnet Gold Project in 2010, and recommenced open pit mining in 2011.
Ramelius Resources Ltd is an emerging mid-tier gold producer, with three operating mines in the Goldfields of Western Australia including Kathleen Valley (open cut), Vivien (underground) and Mt Magnet (open cut). Ramelius is currently on track to produce 100koz of gold during FY2016, and plans to produce in excess of 135koz of gold in FY2017.
Services to be provided by SMS include the supply and maintenance of the ROM Loaders, including 2x Caterpillar 988H Wheel Loaders. Mobilisation to site is expected to occur late February 2016, with operations to commence mid-March 2016. The maintenance component of the contract will be carried out by our field service team, with Ramelius supplying all relevant support infrastructure.
The Mt Magnet Gold project award is significant to SMS. Firstly we welcome a new Goldfields based client into the business with significant growth potential; and secondly the project is located only 300km from our Thunderbox operation, 660km from our Kalgoorlie base and 580km from our Perth Head Office, making the integration of this project into the business simple and provides access to our already established infrastructure and finally it further stamps our position as the dominant mining equipment rental & maintenance services provider in the Western Australian Goldfields.
